Jakob Bill - Born 1942 in Zurich, son of Binia and Max Bill. Studies prehistory, classical archaeology and art history at University of Zurich and Department of archaeology, University London, PhD in prehistory. Self-taught as an artist. 1972 - 1982 assistant to the archaeological Department of the Swiss National Museum. 1982 - 1985 head of the Archaeological research in the Principality of Liechtenstein. 1985 - 2001 head of the archaeology in the Canton of Lucerne. Since the later 1950s also active as artist. Curator of archaeological and art exhibitions. Member of the board of some artist's foundations.
