New features for the ticketing platform and name change from 4me to Xurrent

The IT Service of Università della Svizzera italiana introduces important new features concerning the ticketing platform. After three years, the 4me platform (serviceportal.usi.ch) has been completely redesigned with a new graphic interface and rebranded as "xurret.com". It will also offer additional services, making it a more central support tool for the entire USI academic community.

Starting 16 September 2024, the eLab Service will be integrated and available to the academic community, providing support via the platform. Additional services like the Web Service and the Human Resources Service will be added by the end of the year, consolidating 'serviceportal.usi.ch' as the central hub for technical and administrative support. The platform will also become a key reference point for these new services, as in the case of IT Service. Each service will not only handle support requests but also provide guidelines, instructions, and specific forms to facilitate access to necessary information for each support area.

The portal has undergone a complete redesign, resulting in a more intuitive user experience with the new interface. These changes are intended to enhance efficiency and transparency in managing requests, streamline interactions between users and services, and consolidate service-specific information in a single portal.

Lastly, as of 1 October 2024, the platform will change its name from '4me' to 'Xurrent'. This decision was made by the company and it will not affect the content or functionality of the platform in any way. All services, features, and interaction methods will remain unchanged. The only updates will be the change in the name on email communications and the reference site.
