Guillaume Habert holds the Chair of Sustainable Construction and is associate professor at the ETH Zürich. He has a material and Earth science background that he uses for the de-velopment of non-conventional materials such as clay-based cement free concrete, by-products and waste from industry for cement alternatives and bio-based and carbon negative building materials. In this lecture, Guillaume Habert presents his research on Life Cycle Assessment of building materials within the project “Circular Future Cities”. This project investigates with a focus on Singapore and Switzerland how working towards a Circular Economy requires rethinking design for disassembly, recyclability, or extended lifetimes.
